The best vegan cookbook

Bianca Zapatka, Nico Rittenau, Nicole Just, Jerome Eckmeier, Stina Spiegelberg... the discerning vegan cookbook addict may think of the mentioned authors when it comes to the keyword "best vegan cookbook." Certainly not an absurd or incorrect thought... but!

The title is deliberately provocative, and everyone should be aware that there cannot be "the best vegan cookbook." So, if you're here looking for the answer to the question about this mythical all-in-one cookbook (wow, how un-vegan can a proverb be?!), then you might not be in the right place. Honestly, though, I do believe that you are exactly where you should be if you are looking for the right vegan cookbook for yourself. And that brings us to the core of the problem: what makes the best cookbook is highly subjective, and everyone has a different criterion. To give a recommendation, I need to know what is important to you in a vegan cookbook. One person may be looking for vegan recipes without substitute products, another may value recipes that are easy to implement in daily life, or perhaps even suitable for the Thermomix. Yet another may want plant-based recipes to convince even the most die-hard anti-vegan. By the way, I wish the latter a lot of success and strong nerves.

In any case, for each of these and many other target groups within the vegan cooking population, a completely different cookbook is the ideal kitchen companion. Clear so far, right?

Therefore, it is my mission here to scrutinize the reviewed cookbooks in such a way that everyone can recognize which book meets their subjective criteria. The repertoire of cookbook reviews will naturally continue to grow. Weekly, more reviews will be published, always with a sample recipe for immediate cooking but also to get a feel for the book's recipes and facilitate your purchasing decision.
